Congratulations on the opening of your store. It looks great. I will look forward to visiting the next time I’m in Chicago.
Nice episode. I am particularly intrigued by the white IPA. I will have to look for it online. Speaking of which, I am eager for your online store to open as well.
Best wishes.
Really looking forward to coming into the store. Do you have a grand opening date set? I’ve seen a couple of posters advertising the coming of Deschutes to Illinois. I think I remember them saying their entire lineup wasn’t being distributed here, but maybe just a few of their brands. Are all three beers on the show available in Illinois? I think I just saw the Mirror Pond at my local Dominics
No firm date on the Grand Opening. I’d say towards the end of the month.
quick FYI
the newest video says it’s not available on your website. I had to go on youtube to watch it.
So excited for all of this! So here we go,
- Yes the counter is amazing. It’s so shiny!
- Interesting bottle opener, did you mother tell you where she got it?
- The audio was just fine. Yes you could hear the car exhausts and the a/c, but really it was just fine.
- Happy New Years/Happy Holidays. Hopefully the new shop didn’t push to much into your holidays.
- The story behind the Chainbreaker was awesome, always nice to hear stories about the beer community like this.
- Butte is not pronounced butt it is butte like your pronouncing butane.
- Wes Skidgel is correct at this moment, the video isn’t available on this website at least.
Excited for all of the upcoming variety in the show. It was really exciting to see your pictures on Twitter and such of the shop, it must be a dream come true!
As always, thanks Mike! I’ll try to get some more info on the bottle opener. It’s certainly cool.
Sorry guys! Trying to get that fixed now!
Ok, I think we’re good to go!
Congrats on the opening, Chris! Next time I’m in Chicago I’m looking forward to stopping in and buying some beer! Excited to hear Deschutes is entering the Chicago market as well – I’ve been looking forward to trying their stuff for quite a while and we don’t get it here in Michigan.
Thanks, Rick
Seen the counter staves elsewhere; very nice. Not only teasing with the Bourbon County Rare, but also the Dark Lord behind it. Definitely “byoot”.
The new opener reminds me to ask — you were saving the bottle caps for the store, I assume to make a display of some sort — is that “live” yet? I hope to stop in “soon”, possibly after work some day, but I haven’t figured out when. Or maybe I’ll drive in so I can buy more, but I’m not sure when that would be.
Yeah, I thought it was Byoot. I actually got my first negative iTunes review because I wasn’t sure. You people are rough!!!
Great episode, first I watched and I will definitely check out more and stop by the store as well! Sound quality was great, could hear everything just fine. Nicely done!
Thank you, Tim!
Please when appropriate give us way out of towners a video tour to see what we are missing. It looks great. The audio sounded fine. Please let us know when the internet store opens up. Thanks.
Thanks Kevin. We’re going to have a Grand Opening in a few weeks, so maybe that would be the best time to do a video tour!
Agree with a video tour for us out of towners. I badly want to get up to the new store, but it’s a 5 hour trip that I don’t have planned yet. Audio is fine. Aesthetically I think doing a beer show from a beer store is a no brainer. Keep the episodes coming and thanks!
Thanks man, I appreciate it.
@Chris: Hey, *I* didn’t rate you low for not being sure about “byoot”; don’t call ME rough!
Having moved to Chicago from Seattle four years ago, I’m glad to see one of my favorite breweries starting to distribute out here!
