Episode #131: Alpine and New Belgium Collaboration Beer: Super IPA

Alpine brewing has a cult following. Hard to get, and very tasty, these are beers people go out of their way to obtain. As a result, most people haven’t had a chance to try their stuff. New Belgium to the rescue! NBB has collaborated with Alpine, allowing them to brew on a scale they have never done before. The result: An Alpine beer with mass availability.

Went right to Binneys and picked up one of the last two bottles. Your rating was right on, but your review should have included “drinking a joint”.
Let’s face it, IPAs are popular for many reasons including: they appeal to today’s familiar tastes.

….cult following. Hard to get, and very tasty, … people go out of their way to obtain.

  2. From "Allan Hopkins" :

I bought this the other day, but I haven’t been able to drink it since I came down with a cold. I want to be able to taste it and smell it, of course, so I’ll have to wait to enjoy it. Poor me.

  3. From "twobeerdudes" :

Glad to finally see some folks appreciate this monster brew. LOL, Alpine, CA is a west burb of SD? I always make that mistake when at in-laws in Orange Co, CA. Us midwesterners orientation is things are “west”, but in Cali, it’s all east.

  4. From "Allan Hopkins" :

Okay, so I’m a little bit better today, so I tried this beer that’s been in my fridge longer than I wanted it to be.

WOW! Whoa! This is an amazing IPA! Piney, grassy, grapefruity, as well as tropical fruit smell AND taste. This thing is like a hop explosion in your mouth (just as I like it). NICE! It is, however, very BOOZY, and very drinkable, so be careful with this one!

Overall, an amazing beer! Thanks, Chris, for recommending this one! And at only $5.99 for a bomber, you can drink like a King for a peasant’s wage.
